Two PSI Officers Die in Tragic Road Accident in Srinagar

 

Srinagar, August 11, 2025 – In a deeply saddening incident late last night, two Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) of the Jammu & Kashmir Police—PSI Sachin Verma of the 23rd Battalion IRP and PSI Shubham Seth of the 21st Battalion IRP—lost their lives in a road accident near Nowgam on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway .

 

The officers, who were traveling after completing their duties related to the Amarnath Yatra, were rushed to a nearby hospital following the collision. Tragically, both were declared dead upon arrival. A third officer, identified as Mastan Singh, sustained injuries and remains hospitalized.

 

Official Reaction

 

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed profound grief over the loss, commending the officers’ dedication and extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. “It is deeply saddening that two PSIs Sachin Verma and Shubham Seth have lost their lives… we will never forget their exemplary service to the nation,” he stated .
