SSP JAMMU HELD CRIME/SECURITY REVIEW MEETING AT DPL JAMMU.

MEETING WAS FOLLOWED BY MEGA FEAST(BADA KHANA)AT DPL.

🟣The Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu Sh.Joginder Singh-JKPS today on 07.01.2026 held a Crime/Security review at District Police Lines.The meeting was attended by all the Zonal SsP,SP Ops Jammu,all SDPO’s,DySP DAR,DySP Hqr,Sr PO DPO Jammu,Incharge FSL DPL Jammu,all SHO’s & Incharge Police Posts of Jammu District.

🟤At the onset of the meeting, SSP Jammu extended greetings & best wishes of New Year to the officers and appreciated the efforts of all the officers and jawans for successfully handling the challenges including implementation of New Criminal Laws on ground,Ops Sindoor as well as flash-floods and maintaining peace and normalcy of the region in the last year.

🟡SSP Jammu presented a brief overview of the crime situation, law and order scenario, and key policing outcomes including innovative measures taken for Safer Jammu by District Police Jammu during the year 2025.

🔵During 2025, 4,134 FIR’s were registered in District Jammu — the lowest figure in the last five years.

In the same period, 5,122 cases were disposed off, including 1,968 old cases and 3,154 new cases, making it the highest disposal in the last five years.

🟣The reduction of 288 cases is due to effective preventive action, PSA and PIT-NDPS detentions,proper bail contesting,bail cancellation appeals, proactive policing, 208 preliminary enquiries under Section 173(3)BNSS, and sustained deployments during Operation Sindoor and flash-flood duties.
This reduction reflects crime prevention, not under-reporting.

🟢During the meeting in addition to Crime review,various security measures were discussed for controlling crime & ensuring peace and stability in the District. Various aspects of policing including quality investigation of cases,time bound crime disposal, verifications, disposal of Property related & NDPS cases, completion of inquest proceedings,history sheeters ,absconders, missing persons and other issues related to accountable policing were also discussed.

🔴*Disposal of cases registered under Old as well as New Criminal Laws of each Police Station/Sub-division/Zone was discussed in detail including disposal within time limit period of 60 & 90 days.*
*SSP Jammu asked officers to ensure time bound completion of Investigation of cases in a time bound manner to ensure speedy justice to the victims.*

🟤Progress on CCTNS front,e-Sakshaya,SID’s,e-summons was also taken up during meeting.

🔵SSP Jammu also asked the officers for improving, capacity building on all important aspects of Policing.

🟠*Officers were asked for Mandatory utilisation of FSL services as per BNSS provisions without fail and progress achieved and challenges faced on this front were discussed with all the stakeholders.Progress on mandatory utilisation of FSL services was discussed in detail & officers were given directions for strict compliance regarding utilisation of FSL services to collect scientific evidence under New Criminal laws.*

🟣*SSP Jammu also advised the police officers posted in the district in various capacities to provide a good policing with assurance of safety/security to the general public and adhering to all legal parameters give a tough time to anti-national and antisocial elements.*

🟢*SSP Jammu specifically mentioned that all the remaining drug peddlers/Organised crime networks should be identified & strict action need to be taken against them.*There is clearly policy of Zero Tolerance against Drugs and Organised crime & whosoever, is involved in drug trafficking/Organised Crime should be strictly dealt*.

🔴*Officers were asked to fully implement citizen centric provisions available under New Criminal laws including registration of Zero-FIR’s & e-FIR’s.*

🟢Progress achieved on utilisation of e-Sakshya by each unit & creation of SID’s was also discussed,besides progress on utilising MedLEaPR.

🔵*SSP Jammu emphasized upon the participating officers to ensure quantitative and qualitative disposal of remaining under investigation cases of various nature as priority and to take stringent action against those who are involved in various social crimes.*

🔴SSP Jammu directed officers to assure proper surveillance on all the released organised criminal elements and asked officers take all necessary steps to curb the criminal activities of Criminals especially Organised Criminals(Gangsters) so that general public don’t feel any sort of criminal threat around.

🔵*He also directed that there is zero tolerance to corruption, burking of crime and indiscipline at any level. He said that the efficiency of police can be gauged from the time it takes to respond to the day to day situations. He asserted that alongwith quickness in response, the polite behavior and sympathy at heart are required while dealing with the problems of general public*

🟢*SSP Jammu applauded the sincere efforts of Jammu Police team and asked for strict compliance to V.D.G as well as Border S.O.P’s.He stressed officers for proper coordination with other forces & area domination in their areas and ensuring tenant verifications without any harassment to general public*

🟣*SSP Jammu directed Officers to ensure proper presence on important roads/junctions at peak hours of the day and evening to facilitate smooth traffic movement and to avoid inconvenience caused to general public due to traffic jamming in the city.*

🔴Th Participants were asked for effective area domination, surveillance on anti-national,anti-social elements, real-time intelligence sharing, and social media monitoring in preparation for forthcoming Republic Day-2026. Specific instructions were issued to ensure robust security measures during these significant occasions.

  1. 🟢Immediately after the conclusion of Crime/security review meeting,Jammu police hosted a mega feast,“*Bada Khana*”*at the DPL Jammu to enhance esprit de corps and strengthen bonds among the officers and officials of the Jammu Police.
