Uttar Pradesh: How did Rajiv Krishna become the acting DGP, leaving behind 11 senior officers?

Indian Police Service officer Rajiv Krishna has been appointed as the new acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Uttar Pradesh.

On May 31, the then acting DGP Prashant Kumar retired and after this Rajiv Krishna was given this responsibility.

A day after assuming office, Rajiv Krishna said that corruption prevention and law and order are important tasks for him.

“We will maintain an uncompromising stance against crime and criminals, ensuring decisive action against organised crime. This policy will be the cornerstone of our law enforcement strategy, which aims to create a safe environment for all citizens,” he said at a press conference on Monday.

 

How was a man caught with poisonous snakes at Mumbai airport?

A person has been arrested in Mumbai on charges of smuggling rare species of snakes. This includes some poisonous snakes as well.

On Sunday, a man returning from Thailand was stopped by customs officials at Mumbai airport. Officials said that these snakes, including 47 poisonous vipers, were found in the man’s check-in bag.

The snakes have been seized under various wildlife protection laws in India.

However, the name of the accused has not been revealed yet and he is in custody. The accused has not given any reaction on the matter
